One of Farmington’s greatest assets is the location next to beautiful mountains…and the best part – we have trails and open space areas right in our backyard, with most trails less than ten minutes away!
Trails get us outside, keep us healthy, and help us see the wonder and beauty of the natural lands in our city and neighboring hills. They also require care and without regular maintenance, trails fall into disrepair, making them unusable and potentially even harmful to the natural environment. That’s why the Farmington Trails Committee is dedicated to improving the trails across Farmington City, and is hoping you will participate in the Adopt-A-Trail Program to help!
The Adopt-A-Trail Program steps in to help our trails by giving individuals, families, friends, groups, businesses, and clubs of any size, an opportunity to adopt a section of trail on an annual basis. Each sponsor supports their Adopted Trail through financial contributions and volunteer trail work.
Your involvement in the Adopt-A-Trail program gives us the means to focus on a singular trail experience that not only balances environmental and recreational needs, but also entices people to visit year after year.
Three Simple Steps to Adopting A Trail
- Choose your sponsorship level
- Choose your section of trail with assistance from the Trails Committee
- Complete the application
You will then be connected with your trail chief and the representative on the Trails Committee who will assist you with choosing the graphics and verbiage for your sign and, depending upon level of sponsorship, you mention on the website and the newsletter.
We are excited for your interest in becoming a member of the Adopt-A-Trails program. Your commitment to improving one of our greatest natural resources will allow generations of Farmington citizens the ability to enjoy our robust and unique trail system.
